The Clare-Gladwin Great Start Readiness School Advisory Committee provides general oversight and council to the Great Start Readiness Preschool planning.
The intent of the School Readiness Advisory Committee is to develop shared language, common goals, and review data to support preschool children and their families. The scope of the committee is all encompassing and includes physical health, social emotional health, family supports, basic needs, parent education, child advocacy, and early education and care.
The committee meets during the months of October, December, February, April and June of each program year and includes parents of preschoolers, preschool teaching staff, elementary teachers, principals, preschool directors, childcare providers and other early childhood community partners from the Clare-Gladwin area.
Members learn, review and make recommendations about the following:
- Transition to kindergarten
- Preschool Quality Assessment (PQA)
- Child Outcome Data
- Health and Developmental Screening
- Nutritional Services
- Recruitment and Enrollment Process
- Continuous Improvement Efforts
- Parent Involvement
All meetings will take place at the Clare-Gladwin RESD Conference Center from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. The meeting schedule for 2016-2017 is as follows:
