The Area School MOCI Transition class, comprised of 15- to 22-year-old students, explored baking apple crisp for the first time. Although none of the students had tried apple crisp before, they were eager to give it a taste after working together as a team to prepare and bake it. The new recipe was a hit, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience! #OurStory #Area School #MOCI Transition

The Area School MOCI Transition class, consisting of 15- to 22-year-olds, celebrated Thanksgiving early with residents of Clare MediLodge by playing bingo and sharing homemade Thanksgiving cards. The young adults visited the MediLodge to deliver the cards they created and enjoyed socializing with the residents during a lively game of bingo. The event was a great success, with everyone having a wonderful time. The class is already looking forward to returning in February to celebrate Valentine's Day. #OurStory #MOCI Transition #Area School #Community Excursions

As Thanksgiving approaches, Gladwin Intermediate Peer 2 Peer students are thankful for "minds" of all kinds. Third-grade students enjoyed coloring their own "brains," and fourth and fifth-graders interviewed each other to color their partner's "brain." Through these activities, students learned about each other's similarities and differences and grew their understanding that all brains think and learn differently. They discovered that all brains are unique and how much can be learned from appreciating each other's differences. The group also had a special moment when a brave neurodiverse student shared his singing talent! #CGRESD #OurStory #Peer2peer
