CTE DIESEL/HEAVY EQUIPMENT STUDENTS VISIT ALMA TIRE. On September 19, Clare-Gladwin Career and Technical Education (CTE) students enrolled in the NEW Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology program enjoyed visiting Alma Tire as part of a field excursion. Alma Tires, a fourth-generation family-owned business, offers services such as commercial tire sales, auto repairs, heavy truck maintenance, fleet service, and roadside service. During their visit to Alma Tire, these students had the unique opportunity to gain valuable insights and knowledge from the experienced professionals at the business.
The recently launched Diesel and Heavy Equipment program, developed in collaboration with Northern Logistics in Clare, is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the diesel mechanics industry while providing students with practical skills that align with the needs of the local economy.

Clare-Gladwin CTE and Mid Michigan College partners to provide the seniors in our area with an opportunity to gather information and begin exploring colleges, training programs and job opportunities so they may begin planning for life after high school. Senior Focus Day began in 2018 with approximately 40 businesses, colleges/training programs and agencies participating. The seniors that participated reported Senior Focus Day helped to relieve some of the stress they were feeling; they found answers to questions they had, gathered new information on job opportunities along with college/training programs available. This year we experienced over 60 businesses, colleges, training programs and agencies that participated. We also increased the number of schools attending from 6 to 11 including Beaverton, Clare, Farwell, Gladwin and Harrison schools.

Have you ever "candled" an egg? Clare-Gladwin RESD CTE Agricultural Science students did today! Candling is the process of holding up a bright light to an egg in order to illuminate the egg's internal development, with a specific focus on the veins inside. The eggs are then numbered in the incubator and are monitored throughout their growth cycle.
