At the Area School, sometimes our students need a little help from their friends. This student and teacher are creating a short film to help another student learn how to ride the bus. Thinking outside the box is what we do best. We all have unique gifts, students and staff alike, and we use them together to make great things happen every day.

Students at Beaverton schools were recently introduced to Stop Motion Animation by REMC 5 Director Joe Trommater. Students used modified laptops to create videos by taking many pictures to create the illusion of motion. AAC comes in all shapes and sizes, low tech to high tech. Clare-Gladwin RESD staff fit students who benefit with systems that best meet their needs. There is no prerequisite to using AAC, and it does not hinder verbal communication. Rather, it's a bridge to functional communication and finding a voice! #CGRESD #ourstory

October is AAC Awareness Month! 💜
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) helps give a voice to those who communicate in different ways. This could be through pictures, devices, symbols, or gestures. AAC opens the door to connection, learning, and independence!
Everyone deserves a voice. This month, let’s celebrate all the different ways people communicate and spread the message that communication is for everyone.
