At the Area School, sometimes our students need a little help from their friends. This student and teacher are creating a short film to help another student learn how to ride the bus. Thinking outside the box is what we do best. We all have unique gifts, students and staff alike, and we use them together to make great things happen every day.

The Area School staff and Business Office staff came together one afternoon to relax, have fun, and enjoy each other’s company. Everyone had a great time painting, laughing, and getting to know one another better. This activity was part of the PERMAH initiative that CGRESD offers to all employees.

Students at Beaverton schools were recently introduced to Stop Motion Animation by REMC 5 Director Joe Trommater. Students used modified laptops to create videos by taking many pictures to create the illusion of motion. You know it was a fun day in Speech when the therapy room looked like a mess!
Preschool students practiced their speech sounds, answered questions, identified prepositions and animals, and built pre literacy skills using a sensory bin activity paired with a book. Assistive technology for seating was also used, featuring the red wobble seat. #CGRESD #ourstory

October is AAC Awareness Month! 💜
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) helps give a voice to those who communicate in different ways. This could be through pictures, devices, symbols, or gestures. AAC opens the door to connection, learning, and independence!
Everyone deserves a voice. This month, let’s celebrate all the different ways people communicate and spread the message that communication is for everyone.

🌟 Professional Learning in Action! 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and brought their energy, ideas, and dedication to the table. It’s inspiring to see how our collective efforts are building stronger systems of support for students across the district. 💡📘 #CGRESD #ourstory
